Dust Kube, 2016
II Channel Video Installation, 1’06”

ARTIM PROJECT SPACE – YARAT Contemporart Art Space

Dust Kube, is comprised of a video installation featuring visuals and sounds alluding to strong winds. The names is inspired from the Persian ontology of Baku (Bad-kube) meaning «Wind-pounded city», in which bad means «wind» and kube is rooted in the verb (kubidan), «to pound». Ultimately, it refers to a place where the wind is strong and pounding. The content exhibits the boundaries we create to establish living spaces apart from the hostilities of the natural world. Exposing the gaps and holes in these boundaries (revealed through the accumulation of dust), the video provides a commentary on the ironic effects of modern construction.
